Huda Kattan is raising awareness of a recent problem with one of the shades in her upcoming Easy Blur foundation collection. In order to explain what went wrong and how she and her team fixed it before the product launched in early September,
the founder of Huda Beauty took to TikTok. Kattan said there was a mismatch in shade. “It’s really unfortunate that it happened with a richer shade, but this could have happened with any shade,” she said.
An influencer who was given an advance look at the collection, according to Kattan, tried the colors and discovered that one was too rich and the other shade was too red, leaving a void in the spectrum. The shade code that was given was incorrect,
according to Kattan, who also mentioned that her staff got to work investigating the situation right away. The shade Lava Cake from Kattan’s Faux Filter foundation range is different from the shade in the new Easy Blur line.
Huda Kattan Issues
Accepting responsibility for her error, Kattan stated that she should have “quadruple-checked” to ensure the blinds were turned in accurately. The group is replacing all of the existing, incorrectly coded “Lava Cake” shades with the correct shade match, “Ganache,”
and taking back all of the existing hues. Kattan also revealed that the original hue will now be called “True Lava Cake” and will be available at stores as soon as possible.
In the caption for the video, Kattan said, “I’m so deeply sorry to anyone who might be affected by this and can’t find their shade.” Kattan also offered an email address for clients to contact her if they are unable to locate their “True Lava Cake” shade, which she hopes will be available at launch. She assured them that a member of the team will personally send one their way.
