Bazaar editors observed the resurgence of the chrome nail trend last spring, and in 2024, it has made a comeback with a twist. During the LaPointe runway show, renowned celebrity artist Naomi Yasuda embellished models’ silver nails with gemstones, adorning both their thumbs and ring fingers.
Chrome 2.0
The metallic nails showcased at PatBO were adorned with intricate touches, incorporating elements like lace and various textures. Gina Edwards, a celebrity nail artist and ambassador for the Kiss brand, explains that this season’s nail designs were inspired by Patricia’s passion for embroidery from her school in Brazil. The nail art featured real lace and crystals in the first look, while the second look comprised a textured pattern with a two-dimensional effect.

Nouveau French
Sundays Studio chose to deviate from the conventional white tips of a French manicure at Alice + Olivia, opting instead for a splash of color to infuse a more playful vibe.
Amy Ling Lin, CEO and founder of Sundays Studio, explains, “French manicures will forever remain a timeless style—we simply aimed to inject a touch of innovation into it.”

At Prabal Gurung, modern French styles were enhanced by 3D chrome accents.
Artist Edwards explains that the intricate details on the tips contributed to a free-spirited design, mirroring the narrative of a businesswoman journeying in Mumbai and encountering her soulmate.
Balletcore
At the Mirror Palais show, the balletcore nail designs for spring and summer exuded subtlety and sophistication. Lead nail artist Leanne Woodley explains, “Our inspiration for the nails this season derives from the classic ballet slipper.”
Using various shades of pink and champagnes from CND tailored to different skin tones, they added a touch of chrome finish to enhance the overall nail aesthetic.
Since Mirror Palais embodies beauty, sensuality, and elegance, the aim was to elevate the look and complement the stunning collection with something that adds extra allure.
